Neural networks in an app
Features Neuronify
Neuronify is an educational tool meant to create intuition for how neurons and neural networks behave.
You can use it to combine neurons with different connections, just like the ones we have in our brain, and explore how changes on single cells lead to behavioral changes in important networks. To build and explore neural networks, you drag neurons and measurement devices onto the screen.
In addition, the app comes with several ready-made simulations for inspiration. We aim to provide a low entry point to simulation-based neuroscience.
Most students wont get the opportunity to create their own neural simulator.
With Neuronify, these students are still able to build up their intuition by experimenting with neural phenomena.Neuronify is based on an integrate-and-fire model of neurons.
This is one of the simplest models of neurons that exist.
It focuses on the spike timing of a neuron and ignores the details of the action potential dynamics.
These neurons are modeled as simple RC circuits.
When the membrane potential is above a certain threshold, a spike is generated and the voltage is reset to its resting potential.
This spike then signals other neurons through its synapses.Additional fixes for voltmeter plots.

What Our Users Say
Don't just take our word for it. Here's what our users have to say about our Android app.
"Why do you need access to mic and cam?"
Michael Broner
"Play with this and instantly get a tactical feel for how neurons and neural nets actually do things. Great."
George Watson
"i've had this long. ago and the app is requesting an update because it was built for an older version of Android. i'm left *scratching my head* as there's no update. Any ways, it's all about neuron ciruitry. it could use plasticity. and different types of neurotransmitters. other than that i just really want to make Robert Sapolsky's image recognition circuitry diagramedInHisBook"Behave:Human BiologyAtOurBestAnd Worst."The brainIsSimilarToAComputer.left hemiphereWorksLikeASerialProcessessor."
Jeff Johnson
"Not very beginner friendly but seems to contain a lot of possibility."
Artemis Vellacott
"Is So Freaking Awesome"
Kristine
"incredible!!!"
Ady Sharma
"it's simplicitic. the human brain has 86 billion neurons in the average male with 100s of neurotransmitters and hormones. and made of grey matter and white matter. And has neuroplasticity. and input from 5 to 14 senses depending on which neuroscientist you ask. each part of the brain is compartmentalizatized with specialties like the insular cortex specializes in disgust both viceral and moral disgust, and the Amygala specializes in fear. then there's the prefrontal cortex, visual cortex, and t"

"great educational app. i now want to read the book it cites on computational modelling in neuroscience. i would pay a few dollars for an expanded version, or a version i could expand with software"
Jeremy L
"This is a great and fun app that teaches the basics of computational Neuroscience"
Mitch von Papen
"This app really explains neural network and doesn't even take very much space to download."
Vedansh Singh
